Instagram has announced the ability to allow users to purchase products in a chat.
How it Works
Using the chat feature, a user can message your business about a particular product you are selling that they are interested in, within this same chat thread you can provide the product information and the user can purchase the product directly in the chat thread. Purchasing products in a chat also allows the user to use Meta Pay to pay for the purchase, message you questions and track their order. This makes checkout easier with just a few taps. Payments are securely processed and your purchases are protected.
Small Business will Benefit
This new feature is a great way for smaller businesses to offer more customer service and an additional sales avenue. Instagram chat purchases allows businesses to chat with customers in real time, provide purchase details, create a payment request, and request and collect payment.
For small businesses that do not have extensive purchasing features on their website this allows you to have more tools available.
